Who does it for you between Kiss Daniel and Reekado Banks?
Both Kiss Daniel and Reekado Banks could be called ‘classmates’ merely because the singers became prominent for their arts in 2013/2014. A year after both artists were both nominated for the very controversial Headies ‘Next Rated’ Award. Mavin Records star Reekado Banks won in the category which obviously sparked outrage and tantrums.
However, Kiss Daniel and Reekado Banks were not the only nominees in the ‘Next Rated’ category, Cynthia Morgan, Korede Bello and Lil Kesh were also nominated. The last three will not be talked about for obvious reasons.
In what would be a critical outlook we hope to analyze which of these two singers is ahead of the other counterpart.
After losing out to Reekado Banks at the 2015 Headies Awards for the ‘Next Rated’ Anidugbe Oluwatobiloba Daniel better known by his stage name Kiss Daniel decided to prove he is an A class artist despite his initial loss.
In the past two years the former G-Worldwide music act has been one of the most consistent music stars in delivering back to back hits. His debut album ‘New Era’ received heaps of accolades including winning Pop Album of The Year at the Headies. In 2017 were competition was fierce because the likes Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Olamide brought in their A game, Vado effortlessly dropped hits like ‘Sofa’, ‘Yeba’ without subscribing to the in vogue ‘pon pon’ sound.
Since parting ways with his former record label to setting up his own Fly Boi Inc. music imprint Kiss Daniel is doing fine if not great. ‘No Do’, and most recently ‘4 Dayz’ proves the young label boss still has the magic to spin off a hit without stressing.
Right after receiving his controversial award, Reekado Banks had everything to prove to Nigerians and the world at large about his music and talent.
The criticisms and pressure may have made a more dedicated artiste in him as he keeps proving his worth. At this point it’s easy to say he justified his ‘Next Rated’ award. Mr Banks is Mavin Records strongest male artist at the moment. Last year wasn’t a great year for most artists under the label besides Tiwa Savage, Reeky did the most churning his own personal hits and also bagging a lot of features than any of his contemporaries. Although Ayoleyi Solomon has not marked 2018 with any music release ‘Easy (jeje), ‘Like’ from last year are still doing very well on the music charts.
Just to end it all Kiss Daniel can be put slightly ahead of Reekado Banks, it would be a case of Leo Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo.
